Dewey Redman is yet another musician hiding in obscurity. There are not nearly enough documents of his works. This is a rare live radio broadcast with a great quartet that just simmers. Check out the incredible ryhtm section that allows Redman & Daniels to express easily what is on their minds. Only downfall of the recording is that the 2nd piece is incomplete. Still a great and worthwhile document IMHO.

ReplyDeletei fell in love with ted daniel's work on andrew cyrille's The Navigator (desert-island disc). the chemistry of these bandmates just shouts...i dunno how to say it, "ebullient flexibility!" is there any chance of a reupload? if not, i can always live on with my dreams... :-))) thx
