Thanks to Boldsouls on DIME for sharing this wonderful piece of history.  Very uncommon to see a complete 3+ hrs concert in excellent quality surface.  The concert contains lots of interesting bits and pieces and it fills an gaping hole in early live documentation of the Arkestra.   Now if only more recordings like this could surface!

    This is an important concert very well recorded. This period in Sun Ra's evolution is not documented enough. At this point it seems that the way to re-interpret the tradition was only an option like others. Probably later it became a necessity because of the impossibility of keeping together a large working band such as this. Thank you for letting this recording out of the shadow!
